Self-Management and Recovery Training (SMART)

SMART Recovery is an evidence-informed recovery method based on Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). It supports individuals with substance dependencies or problematic behaviors in the following ways:

  1. Building and maintaining motivation
  2. Coping with urges and cravings
  3. Managing thoughts, feelings, and behaviors
  4. Living a balanced life

SBIRT

SBIRT training courses provide interactive, self-paced education on screening, brief intervention, and referral to treatment for substance use, often offering continuing education credits for healthcare and social service professionals.
Overview of SBIRT Training
SBIRT (Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment) is an evidence-based approach to identify and address substance use early in various settings, including primary care, behavioral health, schools, and community clinics. Training courses teach participants how to screen for substance use, conduct brief interventions, and refer patients to appropriate treatment when necessary.

CRAFT

The CRAFT (Community Reinforcement and Family Training) program is a compassionate, non-confrontational, evidence-based intervention that helps family and friends develop effective strategies for helping their loved one who is struggling with a substance use disorder and for feeling better themselves.

This program provides training, curriculum, and materials to facilitate an in-person, virtual, or blended CRAFT Family Support group.

The CRAFT Family Support Program is a group education and support model that is based on the work of Drs. Robert J. Meyers and Jane Ellen Smith and includes the Get Your Loved One Sober book, a companion workbook, and a 12-session curriculum facilitated by a trained leader.

Over the course of 12 sessions, participants learn and practice skills such as building rapport, using positive reinforcement, improving communication, setting healthy boundaries, increasing motivation for change, identifying patterns in substance use, knowing when and how to intervene, and more.
